INSIDER HACKING

A hackathon made by BMA for BMA | January 24-25-26

Get a fresh perspective

Work on concrete things

Step out of your daily routine, from clients or cold emails to developer scraping, and think outside the box.

Pain points are real. We don't always have the time to look at them in the eye. Now we do, and we'll tackle them together.

WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT

We're experts in hackathons. So it was about time we organized one for ourselves.

And like any other company, we have certain processes that could be streamlined, we spend more time on certain things than we should, and there are tasks in our daily work life that are just a pain.

We want to improve that, not just to make our life easier but because we truly believe the solutions built during the hackathon can help the company at a higher and global level. We don't want this hackathon to deliver a quick fix to our issues "band-aid style", but real solutions that will have an impact on our business in the long run.

And we believe YOU are the best people to rise up to this challenge! We count on you to make your mark on BeMyApp, and we'll be happy to invest and develop all solutions that prove to be successful.

Your objective

Come up with new processes and methods that can:

make us more efficient and productive

be implemented immediately after the hackathon (so keep it simple stupid)

be developed further with more time and resources in the future

THE CHALLENGES

SOURCING SCRAMBLE

How can you find 1,000 contacts within 1 week?

FINAL REPORT FURY

How can you finish a report in less than 2 hours?

MULTIPLE DOCS MADNESS

The same info needs to be edited in too many docs. Find the 1 edit to rule them all!

LEAD GENERATION JOKER

How can you leverage the BMA database to generate leads?

HOW?

Don't try to do something that requires technical skills you don't have.

Use resources that are available to you.

End-result expected

The solution should be ready to be used by the end of the hackathon.

For each challenge, break it down to identify as many steps as possible. If some of those steps can be outsourced to upworkers, then create a proper brief for directions. If an upworker can do it with proper directions, it means we can invest time and resources to automate those steps in the future.

To sum up: end-result should be a new method that outsources certain steps of the process so we can save time and focus our brains on what really matters.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

Everyone has to pitch (in 1min, you know the drill): what you want to work on, why, how

Teams are limited to 4 people

Teams have to mix departments

Solutions should be ready for experimentation right after the end of the hackathon

Winning project or not, the goal is still to implement all solutions

Final presentations will be 5 min pitch, 2 min QnA from the audience

PRIZES AND FUN STUFF

1 Amazon Echo for each member of the winning team

Several small challenges throughout the hackathon so you'll also get a shot at these prizes!

And other activities for you to rest, relax and recharge :)
